Tour Itinerary
Trivendrum - Kanyakumari - Periyar - Munnar - Cochin
Day 1 - Kanyakumari
Arrive at Kanyakumari. Hotel check in at 10 a.m. Your tour begins here. Lunch followed by local sightseeing tour of Kanyakumari situated at the confluence of Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea & Indian Ocean. It is famous for Vivekanand Rock Memorial. Meditate at the Omkar Bhavan on Rock Memorial. Enjoy a marvelous view of the statue of local poet Sant Thiru Valluvar, Kanyakumari Devi temple, Gandhi Mandapam, where the Kalash (ashes) of Mahatma Gandhi receive sunrays at 12:00 noon on every 2nd October. Pay homage to Tsunami victims here. Overnight stay at Kanyakumari.
Day - 2 Kanyakumari - Trivandrum
Proceed to Trivandrum. En-route stopover at Suchindram Temple where it is believed that Lord Shiva stopped on hearing a rooster. Break at the Kovalam beach, India's most beautiful beach. At Trivandrum, visit Padmanabha Mandir. Overnight stay at Trivendrum.
Day - 3- Periyar
Departure to Alleppey - En-route enjoy a boat ride in the backwaters of Alleppy, the Venice of East. Overnight stay at Periyar
Day - 4 - Periyar - Munnar
Take an excursion by boat in Periyar wildlife sanctuary (a tiger project). Come face to face with wild elephants, wild bores and rare species of aquatic birds. Later, visit spice gardens and shop for fresh Cardamom, Clove, etc. Proceed to Munnar for overnight stay.
Day 5- Munnar
Full day sightseeing of Munnar which includes Idukki wildlife sanctuary, home to endangered species of Thar Goat. Touch Anna Mudi - the highest peak in South India. Overnight stay at Munnar.
Day - 6- Cochin
Departure to the port city of Cochin. On arrival, tour of Cochin. Visit to the Dutch Palace, Mattanchery Palace, St. Francis Church where Vasco-Da-Gama was first cremated, and world renowned Jewish Synagogue. Learn about the unique Chinese Fishing Nets. Such fishing style is found only on the coasts of Cochin in India. Overnight stay at Cochin.
Day 7 - Cochin
Hotel checkout at 10 a.m. and your tour ends at the Cochin railway station.
