Tour Itinerary
Kanyakumari - Trivendrum - Periyar - Munnar - Cochin
Day - 1- Kanyakumari
Tour begins after hotel check in at 10 a.m. in Kanyakumai, at the confluence of Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea & Indian Ocean. Visit Vivekanand Rock Memorial and meditate at the Omkar Bhavan. Enjoy a view of the statue of local poet Sant Thiru Valluvar, Kanyakumari Devi temple, Gandhi Mandapam, where the Kalash (ashes) of Mahatma Gandhi receives sunrays at 12:00 noon on every
2nd October. Stopover at Suchindram Temple where Lord Shiva halted on hearing a rooster. Pay homage to Tsunami victims. Overnight stay at Kanyakumari.
Day - 2- Trivandrum
Departure to Trivandrum. En route, visit Suchindrum Temple & Kovalam beach.
Overnight stay at Trivandrum.
Day -3 Alleppey
Departure to Alleppey. Boat ride in the backwaters of Alleppey, the Venice of East, taking you from Alleppey to lake Wembnad at Kottayam and back. Overnight stay at Alleppey.
Day - 4- Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
Departure to Periyar. On arrival, enjoy boat ride at Periyar wildlife sanctuary (a tiger project). Come face to face with wild elephants, wild bores and rare species of aquatic birds. Visit spice gardens and shop for fresh Cardamom, Clove, etc. Overnight stay at Thekkadi.
Day 5 - Munnar
Morning proceed to Munnar, famous for tea plantation. Overnight stay at Munnar.
Day 6 - Munnar
Full day sightseeing of Munnar. Start at Idukki wildlife sanctuary, the home to endangered species of Thar Goat. Next is Anna Mudi - the highest peak in south India. Boating in the backwaters of Mettupetty Dam. Overnight stay at Munnar.
Day - 7- Cochin
Departure to Cochin. On arrival, visit the Dutch Palace, Mattanchery Palace, St. Francis Church where Vasco-Da-Gama was first cremated, and Jewish Synagogue. Watch fishing with Chinese fishing nets found only on the coasts of Cochin in India. Overnight stay at Cochin.
Day 8 - Cochin
Optional tour to Guruvayur (at extra cost) or free day for shopping.
Day 9 - Cochin
Hotel checkout at 10 a.m. Your tour ends at the Cochin railway station.
